1. View overlooking Gaza Strip, flash from blast lighting up sky
STORYLINE:
An explosion could be seen inside the northern Gaza Strip late Saturday as Israel’s military offensive continued, with the enclave’s health ministry reporting 95 people had been killed in attacks in the space of 24 hours.
The Israeli campaign has killed more than 54,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, according to the ministry.
The offensive has destroyed large parts of Hamas-run Gaza and displaced around 90% of its population of roughly 2 million Palestinians.
Israel said on Saturday its military retrieved the body of a Thai hostage abducted into Gaza during the Hamas-led attack that sparked the war.
