The fate of Karen Read is in the hands of the jury Friday as her retrial comes to a close. Read’s father spoke to reporters before going into court for the last hours of the trial. Read, a 45-year-old college professor, is accused of mowing down her boyfriend, Boston cop John O’Keefe, in her SUV. The defense claims Read is being framed and that her boyfriend was beaten and left for dead near another officer’s house where a party was underway.
