2. SOUNDBITE (English) Mia Farrow, actor:- on wanting to be in ‘The Roommate’ with an eight show a week schedule:
"It was the confluence of a play that seemed worth doing, brought to me by a friend, a director, who was worth working with, a play written by a playwright, Jan Silverman, who in my view is a wonderful playwright. And then when Patti LuPone agreed to do it, I mean, everything fell into place, and Ronan said, ‘You have to do it.’ So it was… A little nudge from my son, and some little Jiminy Cricket saying, you should do this. Because I’m actually very good at doing nothing, you know. I mean, I have a dog, I’ve got grandchildren, I live in the country, I’m a garden, I read a lot, I listen to music, and I’m not an unhappy person. So I don’t need to be changing that, but I’m very glad I did."

"I can say two things. One, my time with Patti was wonderful. She’s the most wonderful roommate, stage companion you could ever ask for. And it was a two-hander, our plays. There was only two of us. It was weak. So if there were any negatives, I would know. She was wonderful! The other thing I want to say is this is the most beautiful community I’ve ever been privileged to be among. And the fact that people of this magnitude of talent. Have been so welcoming to me has meant more than I can say. So I’m so honored tonight to be at this Tony nomination and be among the people that I’m awed by. I have no words to say. It’s great upon great."

3. SOUNDBITE (English) Jamie Lloyd, director:- on Nicole Scherzinger in ‘Sunset Blvd.’
"Nicole, who, I mean, I think she’s giving us a performance for the ages. I think it’s an exceptional performance and really, it’s really an understanding that she has such a connection to Norma Desmond’s journey. So like Norma Desmond. Nicole knows what it’s like to be exceptionally famous, really, really like loved all over the world and then to sort of be dismissed, discarded, almost became a sort of like laughing stock, Like, no one took her seriously. No one realized what she could really do, and now finally she gets to show the world this exceptional talent. Not only is she a powerhouse vocalist, but an amazing, amazing actor. So I just know what that’s like. Like Norma, she’s like desperate for the world to see what she can really do. And Nicole is doing it, and then some."

"I don’t think that there’s a single person in our community that doesn’t have a mind and a heart for the things that are happening in the world. As artists, our job is to create something to evoke people’s thoughts, emotions that extend beyond just the show that we’re doing. And so what we’re always doing is we’ve always seen it as an extension of trying to just make the world a little bit better with the right ideas or just encouraging conversation and ideas. So anytime we get together, I feel like it’s an extension of that and the times much like our show had defined the response to our show and the strength of this message."
