2. SOUNDBITE (Russian) Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin:
"The Russian Federation adheres to the agreements that were reached last time in Istanbul during the second round of negotiations. And it always fulfills the agreements that were reached, which cannot be said about the Ukrainian side. We have seen and heard 100 different excuses, justifications, and so on, but it is unlikely that they can be considered, so to speak, plausible. The Russian side maintains its readiness to implement the agreements that were reached in Istanbul."

4. SOUNDBITE (Russian) Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin:
"Despite our significant change, as the president said, the vision of the essence of the Kyiv regime, which after the attacks on peaceful trains with civilians, actually acquired all the characteristics of a terrorist regime, the point of view of the Russian Foreign Ministry was nevertheless expressed, Sergey Lavrov expressed the point of view where he said that despite this, contacts should still be continued at the working level. And the president agreed with this. Therefore, of course, even now, depending on how the situation develops, the conversation should ideally be about continuing and about the next round of negotiations. There is no precise understanding on this matter."

6. SOUNDBITE (Russian) Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin:
"One way or another, Russia will have to respond to expansionist and aggressive actions by NATO and NATO countries, including the new NATO members in close vicinity to our borders. And of course, we certainly reserve the right to act freely, and at some point, nothing will limit our actions."

STORYLINE:
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Monday that the swap of bodies of fallen soldiers with Ukraine is expected to go ahead eventually.
Asked about the Russian Defense Ministry’s claim that Ukraine over the weekend failed to collect the bodies of fallen soldiers as it was agreed in Istanbul, Peskov responded that Moscow remains ready to honor the deal.
“The Russian Federation is committed to the agreements reached at the second round of talks in Istanbul and always honors the agreement reached, unlike the Ukrainian side," Peskov added.
He told reporters that Ukraine has made a “hundred excuses, justifications and so on” regarding its refusal to collect the bodies over the weekend, adding that “they can hardly be called plausible."
Asked if another round of talks between Moscow and Kyiv is planned, Peskov said it’s expected to be held but noted that there no specific arrangements have been made yet.
As for the possibility of Russia deploying intermediate range missiles, Peskov declared that the country has the right to respond to NATO "expansionist" action.
