STORYLINE:
A soup kitchen distributed food in a Gaza City tent camp on Saturday as Palestinians struggle to get meals amid Israel’s ongoing blockade and military operation.
Palestinians across the Gaza Strip have become increasingly desperate as nearly three months of Israeli border closures have pushed the territory to the brink of famine.
The hot soup distributed on Saturday was not enough to feed everyone who came whether from inside or outside the camp as people crowded the collection point.
"Food is very scarce, and you see the chaos," Mohammad Misleh, a father of seven living in the camp, told The Associated Press.
another resident, Hala al-Misri, said she was five months pregnant and sometimes having to go without meals.
She said her pregnancy was being made more difficult by having to stand in the sun for extended periods.
Separately, another 11 Palestinians were killed overnight near food distribution points run by an Israeli- and U.S.-supported humanitarian group in the latest of almost daily shootings near the sites since they opened last month.
