Fearing Israeli strikes, Iranians seek refuge in neighboring Turkey | DW News

Turkey is tightening security along its eastern border with Iran, as the conflict between Israel and Iran worsens and many Iranians leave their country. The Iran-Turkey border stretches nearly 600 kilometres. Ankara’s policy of allowing Iranian citizens to stay for up to 90 days without a visa has made it a popular destination for refugees. The dangers of the conflict, limited access to banking and the internet, as well as food shortages have prompted people to leave Iran.

DW Correspondent Julia Hahn reports from Kapikoy, Turkey.
