Tel Aviv area, Israel – 15 June 2025
++NIGHT SHOTS++
1. Tilt down of damaged building to emergency services in front
2. SOUNDBITE (English) Sam Mednick, Associated Press:
"This is an area just outside of Tel Aviv that has been absolutely decimated by missiles that have come from Iran early this morning. You can see behind me first responders. They are trying to get the remains of the missile that landed there between two buildings, it appears. Half of these buildings have been destroyed. The buildings have been completely torn off. First responders say there have been fatalities here, but it’s unclear right now how many people and that there have been dozens of people injured. Walking here you saw people with their suitcases just evacuating some of the buildings, which responders are helping them to leave. This is yet another night of attacks from Iran after Israel launched its attack first on Iran’s nuclear program, on its nuclear facilities, as well as its military facilities. First responders have sent a drone up here to kind of suss out some of the damage to the areas that they can’t get to. Right now they’re trying to just search some of these buildings, see if there are anyone left inside them, people who are injured, people who have survived. This is unprecedented damage for here right now and people are shaken and they’re just trying to scramble right now to see the extent of what has actually happened this morning."
3. Various of damaged buildings, vehicles, rubble and emergency services
STORYLINE:
First responders were looking for survivors and clearing the remnants of a missile that fell on a neighborhood outside of Tel Aviv early Sunday morning.
An AP reporter saw streets lined with damaged and destroyed buildings, bombed out cars and shards of glass.
Responders used a drone to look for survivors in areas that were too hard to access. Some people were fleeing the area with their belongings in suitcases.
The Israeli military said earlier Sunday it targeted Iran’s Defense Ministry headquarters in Tehran.
Israel’s military also said it targeted sites it alleged were associated with Iran’s nuclear program around Tehran.
It alleged the sites were “related to the Iranian regime’s nuclear weapons project.”
U.S. intelligence agencies and the International Atomic Energy Agency have repeatedly said Iran was not pursuing a nuclear weapon before Israel unleashed its campaign of airstrikes targeting Iran beginning Friday.
