Siarhei Tsikhanouski, one of the leaders of Belarus’ opposition movement, has been released from jail. A total of 14 Belarusian political prisoners have been released. Tsikhanouski spent nearly five years behind bars due to his opposition to Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko. He was met by his wife Sviatlana on his release from jail. The surprise move came hours after Lukashenko met Donald Trump’s special envoy Keith Kellogg in Minsk.
