STORYLINE:
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and his French counterpart President Emmanuel Macron sat together for a meeting on the sidelines of the Group of Seven Summit in Canada on Monday.

The pair talked up the bilateral relationship between France and Canada amid "crises and wars" which were taking place around the world.

The summit’s host at the Rocky Mountain retreat, Carney, said the world was looking to the G7 for leadership at a “hinge” moment in time.
