Iran has denied firing missiles at Israel after the ceasefire began, according to Iranian state media.
Israel’s Defence Minister Israel Katz accused Iran of violating the ceasefire just two hours after agreeing to the deal brokered by US President Donald Trump and Qatar.
Katz vowed to "respond forcefully to Iran’s violation of the ceasefire with intense strikes against regime targets in the heart of Tehran".
Iran’s security council warned that "any further aggression will be met with a decisive, firm, and timely response".
Before the ceasefire took effect, both countries exchanged heavy fire overnight – Israel said at least four people died in the southern town of Beersheba.
