4. SOUNDBITE (Urdu) Sabir Abu Maryum, Shiite scholar:
“Pakistan’s people are condemning Israeli and US aggression on Palestine, Lebanon, Syria and Yemen and now Iran. We want to assure the Iranian people that Pakistani people are standing with Iran and yesterday night the world terrorist state United State attacked Iran which is a blatant violation of the United Nations charter and international laws. We condemn this act and support Iran’s right to defence which is being used against Israel. We hope that Iran will teach a lesson to the U..S and use its right of self-defense.”
5. Various of protesters chanting slogans “Down with Israel”, holding portraits of Iranian supreme leader
6. Placard reading (English) "Hassan Nasrallah: we will not give up even one grain of Palestine soil to the Zionist”
7. SOUNDBITE (Urdu) Shagufta Zahid, protester:
“I want to tell the Pakistani government to see this protest demonstration, that everyone is here, whether Sunni or Shia Muslim, and they want to show that they are all standing with Iran. And how could the Pakistani government name U.S. Donald Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize in such a situation. When Trump came into power we did not see him (Trump) do any substantial work for peace in Palestine and Gaza. The Pakistan and India escalation could not be termed as war and how could he (Trump) be given a Nobel Peace Prize for a peace deal when he is involved in atrocities against Muslims all over the world.”

9. SOUNDBITE (Urdu) Syeda Zahra, protester:
“Today, it is a clear message for the world: Those (referring to the US ) who said that this war was started to restore peace in the world, they are themselves are ready to launch a huge atomic bomb on people. How could they (U.S.) restore peace when they themselves do not take actions based on justice. You (U.S.) have the right to make an atom bomb, but we don’t (have the same right)? Our brother country Iran has been saying for a long time that they do not want to build an atomic bomb and yesterday’s bombardment on Iran was not the first attack and Iran will respond to this attack."
10. Protesters carrying banner reading (English) “Pakistan stand with Iran”

STORYLINE:
Hundreds of Shiite Muslims in Karachi held a demonstration in protest against Israel and the United States’ strikes on Iran on Sunday.

Protesters held placards depicting Iran’s supreme leader and chanted anti-America and anti-Israel slogans.

The United States inserted itself into Israel’s war against Iran by dropping 30,000-pound bombs on a uranium enrichment site early Sunday.

Iran lashed out at the U.S. for crossing “a very big red line” with its risky gambit to launch strikes on three Iranian nuclear sites with missiles and the bunker-buster bombs.

In Karachi, one protester, Shiite scholar Sabir Abu Maryum, condemned Israel and the U.S.’ actions in Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen and Iran

"We support Iran’s right to defence which is being used against Israel," he said. "We hope that Iran will teach a lesson to the U.S. and use its right of self-defense.”
