"I started ‘Boleros Psicodelicos II’ at the end of the first volume. I made it and recorded it. The reality is, I wanted to keep recording, but I had to turn something in so that the album could make deadline. If not, the first volume would never have been released. I finished the first volume and immediately started recording new ideas. There were also a lot of singers and artists I wanted to collaborate with and they were unable to be a part of the first volume. So, I kept recording and recording. The other thing is that when I finished the first volume, I love it now and I loved it when it was released, but sometimes I listen to it and I keep thinking about what I could have refined and some things I wish I would’ve done differently. So, I began volume two—and the first one was created during the pandemic, so we never recorded together in the same room. No one came into the studio. Everything was done via email and WhatsApp and other things. But in this volume, I wanted to have those intimate moments with. my collaborators. So, it was important that we got to have those moments with this second volume. "

"’Boleros Psicodélicos II,’ I want to continue the tradition—the first volume began as a homage to one theme, one genre and one sound. In this second volume, I wanted to use more of my voice. Instead of creating another homage, I wanted to create an album that paid a bit of homage, but ultimately, showcases my voice and the voice of the artists that you hear on the album. I thought, "What can I say through this music?" I wasn’t trying to tap into an older genre. I was writing music that is applicable today with the older (bolero) influence in the back of my mind."

"I decided to create the album in Spanish because—I’m going to answer in broken Spanish—as they say in English, ‘It doesn’t hit hard in English.’ It’s something that would get lost in translation. These words wouldn’t have the same impact in English. The Spanish language is so romantic and beautiful, so it had to be in Spanish. We recorded one song in English. We’ll see if I release it one day. It wasn’t bad, I really liked it but there’s something that gets lost when translating from Spanish to English."
