"What really, really jumped out tonight was the cultural fusion. Indian-style chunky sandals, striped boxy shorts, loose preppy shirts and silken cargo pants. We saw pinstriped puffers, cricket jerseys, some even with bejewelled collars, others with jewelled hoods sparkling under the light. That juxtaposition. You could almost feel Pharrell’s ongoing conversation with streetwear – especially his long-running creative partnership with Kenzo designer Nigo, whom he’s collaborated with before. Altogether, this felt like Vuitton once again on a global voyage, forcing menswear into playful territory. That’s what struck me most tonight."
