And now, Iran didn’t fall, but the regime was hit hard, really hard. And we know that Iran is the head of the snake. We know that they funded, facilitated, thought about and gave the green light for the October 7 attack.”

“So when the head of the snake got beaten so badly and Hezbollah and Syria is not there to help Hamas, we are hoping that all those dominoes falling into pieces will help secure a better deal for the hostages and secure a long term, peace is a big word, but long term safety in the region.”

“Once Hamas is seeing that their beneficiary, that the main head is not longer with them, is concerned with themselves, then I think now it’s the time to pressure them and tell them, look, you are on your own, no one is coming to your help, this is it. If you want to survive and not die, then this is it, this is the moment to release the hostages and lay your weapons and then it’s up to others to decide what will happen with the head of Hamas. But I think the dominoes fell into place and it’s time for diplomacy to reign now.”

STORYLINE:
Liran Berman hasn’t had much to keep him hopeful over the 627 days of his brothers’ captivity in Gaza. Ceasefire deals have collapsed, the war has dragged on and his siblings remain hostages in the Palestinian enclave.
But the historic 12-day war between Israel and Iran, and the U.S.-brokered ceasefire that it culminated with, have sparked fresh hope in Berman that a new window of opportunity has been cracked open and his brothers, twins Gali and Ziv, may finally return home.
In the Oct. 7, 2023 attack, Hamas led-militants killed 1,200 people and took 251 hostage.
