Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he’s preparing to meet Donald Trump, after the US president claimed that a truce in Gaza was within reach. It comes after Israel’s defense minister said the ‘completion’ of Israel’s current war in Gaza was near – and more deadly Israeli strikes on the coastal Palestinian territory. On Monday, Israeli forces struck a seaside café said to be popular with journalists and filled with women and children, according to witnesses.
