A marathon voting session in the US Senate on changes to President Donald Trump’s 3.3 trillion dollar spending bill has extended into a second day.
It’s aimed at funding deportations and boosting defense and energy spending. The legislation includes big cuts to healthcare and nutrition programs, and could result in millions of people losing health insurance. Republicans are divided on some provisions, like cuts to Medicaid health insurance for low-income Americans. Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who helped launch the US Department of Goverment Efficiency, has again criticized the bill.
