It’s hot enough to fry a schnitzel on the sidewalk here in Germany (though we don’t recommend it), with temperatures between 34 and 38 degrees Celsius in much of the country. The heat wave has made it especially tough for people working outdoors. Some lucky residents found relief in lakes, rivers, or – at the Berlin Zoo – extra showers from the zookeepers.
