US Independence Day hotdog eating content returns | BBC News

4 July marks Independence Day in the US.

But one event has also become synonymous with the holiday: the hotdog eating contest.

The annual contest in Coney Island, Brooklyn, sees participants aim to devour as many hot dogs as they can in 10 minutes to win the prestigious mustard belt and $10,000 prize.

Following a ban last year, 16-time Nathan’s hot dog eating champion and world record holder Joey Chestnut is back to take his chances at a win.
