Greece: Acropolis and other famous tourist sites closed due to extreme heat | DW News

Greece’s top monument, the Acropolis, will partially close later due to extreme heat.

The country’s culture ministry says it’s made the order to protect both visitors and workers. Millions of people each year visit the two-and-a-half thousand year old Acropolis which overlooks Athens. Temperatures have been soaring across Greece in the latest heatwave to hit the country. Authorities have already imposed mandatory work breaks in parts of the country.
