2. SOUNDBITE (Russian) Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin:
“We are very attentive to all statements made by Trump. During the conversation, President Putin repeated that we are interested in achieving the goals of the special military operation, and it is preferable to do this through political and diplomatic means, but since this is not possible yet, we are continuing our special military operation (in Ukraine). The president also informed his American counterpart that we are now awaiting agreement on dates for the third round of direct negotiations.”

STORYLINE:
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Friday that “we are very attentive to all statements made by (U.S. President Donald) Trump.”
That comment to journalists comes after Trump had said he was dissatisfied with a call with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday.
“During the conversation, President Putin repeated that we are interested in achieving the goals of the special military operation, and it is preferable to do this through political and diplomatic means, but since this is not possible yet, we are continuing our special military operation," Peskov said.
“The president also informed his American counterpart that we are now awaiting agreement on dates for the third round of direct negotiations," he added.
