3. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Qassim, 26, Palestinian migrant:
"When the house was bombed in 2014 in the Shujaiya neighborhood of Gaza, our home was hit and my family. I am the only child of my father and mother. At that moment, I was left in a coma and taken to a hospital in Egypt, in Cairo. After a month, I was woken up and I received treatment. Then I left with a friend to Yemen, but problems also began in Yemen afterwards. I couldn’t leave, and I spent my days, the rest of my days in Yemen. I was forced to live there because I had lost all my documents. I married a Yemeni woman — my wife, Anouar."

8. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Qassim, 26, Palestinian migrant:
"I continued living my life in Yemen despite the bombings, the difficult conditions, famine, and the lack of hospitals and schools. Then I found a way to secure a future for my children and my family, and to take them to a safe place. And I resorted to the route of Turkey and Greece leading to here in France. I would like to continue the path to Britain and from there, I can secure the future of my children and live a safe life."

11. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Qassim, 26, Palestinian migrant:
"When we see that our destiny and our goal are in front of us, the police come and the journey fails. The boat we want to take is stopped by police. We also go back on foot for six hours or more and go to the forest again and try to live there despite the cold, hunger, diseases and insects because we have no other place to go. But our goal is to go to Britain and this for us is a transit country. We do not want to apply for any type of asylum here."
