1. Sit down interview with Nadine Coyle including the following sound bites:
”The ‘Insatiable’ is good representation I feel because it kind of gives a hint of what’s to come. You know, there are songs that are rockier than ‘Insatiable,’ but ‘Insatiable”s not the rockiest. There’s ballads on there and there’s strong woman prospective songs. So there’s just a kind of a good feel. There’s kind of more soulful melodies and I think ‘Insatiable’ kind of captures that there’s a lot of different styles on the one album. It was so hard to choose which one to go with.”
”I just started writing, just as an EMI writer. They just gave me free reign to go and write and do loads of things. I started coming up with all these things. I didn’t deliberately go a certain way or with a certain genre of music. I just kind of started to write and let all the genres of music that I love influence me and try and find a happy medium amongst all of it. And then we created ‘Insatiable’ the album.”
”I’ve worked with a lot of Americans doing stuff, like Desmond Child and Mike Elizondo, Toby Gad’s German but a lot of different styles of doing things. So yeah, I get a big influence and I was just getting to know how I wrote songs. So I learned a lot from them in ways to do things and wee tips and tricks and stuff."
"It’s so exciting because we’ve been rehearsing all week and there’s a huge big load of us. My friend was saying it’s like having a football team behind you on stage. It’s a load of people and it’s really good and fun, you know. So I’ve got a real kind of camaraderie there with the band so to go out and tour would be amazing. But I’m really excited about doing these next couple of live shows and seeing how they all go."
"I mean it’s really sad because this is our eighth year being together, you know. Done so much stuff and then now that everybody’s taking a chance and, you know, doing our own things there is something that just doesn’t seem as positive as what it is and what it feels for us. And it’s more from the fan’s perspective that’s thinking ‘oh no,’ and they’re kind of depending and hopeful that we’re friends and stuff like that. It’s kind of disheartening. So you’d rather that they actually tra-la-la everything’s fine. But I keep saying that over and over and over again. But someday somebody might catch on and be like ‘everything’s actually…she’s actually alright. Everything’s good.’"
”The American way of doing things is everything from my perspective, what I’ve kind of seen, everything’s a big show even when they’re electing a Governor, the whole Obama campaign, everything is just a huge ordeal and I like that it’s real entertainment. You hear the politicians, and I think the politicians are much more in the spotlight than maybe the celebrities so that kind of takes a bit of heat off them over there, so celebrities can just get on with their careers i suppose and there not as many tabloids, they don’t have any daily tabloids. It’s not as bad I don’t think.”
