"They deliver aid at this distribution point. They targeted children and women. What was their fault to deserve death? What’s the fault of this child who’s three-four years old. What did she do wrong for them to kill her? What did they do? These people are hungry and they just learned of a place where there’s food that they could go to. People died out of hunger. People got oppressed. Why all of this is happening?"

STORYLINE:
Palestinian families in central Gaza mourned the loss of their loved ones killed in Israeli airstrikes that pounded the Gaza Strip Wednesday night into Thursday.
At least 14 people were killed in the city of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, including five children and two women.
The bodies of five children lay exposed on the morgue floor of Al-Aqsa Hospital, their blood-stained clothes still on them. Beside them, the bodies of adults were covered with sheets.
A grieving woman wept as she cradled one of the lifeless children, gently rubbing her hand over his face, while one of the children’s fathers, Nidal al-Nouri, broke down in tears as he performed a funeral prayer for his killed daughter, 13-year-old Sama al-Nouri, whose body was placed along with the others outside in the hospital yard before being transferred for burial.
“The entire population is hungry. If they’re not hungry for food, they’re hungry for relief. They’re hungry for safety and security,” he said.
Those killed in Deir al-Balah included at least 10 people waiting to receive nutritional supplements at a medical clinic early Thursday, according to Project Hope, an aid group that runs the clinic.
Omar Meshmesh, holding the dead body of three-year-old Aya Meshmesh, his niece, said the little girl headed out with her mother to the clinic to get the nutritional supplements when they were hit.
