"Elie Saab returned to his signature couture playbook for fall, offering up the kind of romantic red carpet ready look he’s known for. Inside this grand salon, guests watched as models descended a gilded stone staircase to harpsichord music. And, of course, this collection leaned into the historic. 18th century references with gathered fabric at the back, pearls, studded chokers and floral appliqué throughout the collection. Rich velvets were a standout as were the jewel encrusted embroideries that simply shimmered under the light. Saab didn’t reinvent the wheel exactly but he delivered what his clients expect, unapologetic opulence."
