"I completed a second meeting with President Trump. I want to inform you something that will shock the various reports have come out. President Trump and I have a common goal. I want to achieve the release of our hostages. We want to end Hamas rule in Gaza. They want to make sure that Gaza does not pose a threat to Israel."

3. SOUNDBITE (English) Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel:
"In pursuing this common goal, we have a common strategy. Not only do we have a common strategy, we have common tactics. This doesn’t involve pressure, doesn’t involve coercion. It involves full coordination. President Trump wants a deal but not at any price. I want to deal but not at any price. Israel has security requirements and other requirements. And we’re working together to try to achieve it. Everything else that you hear and are being briefed on is false. It’s about as accurate as the reports that you had before, before the Iran war, about the great tension between us, about the great disagreements between us. And I say when will they ever learn. I don’t know, it’s not important. We’ll continue. We’re pursuing this, and I hope with impending success."

4. SOUNDBITE (English) Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel:
"We’re not pushing out anyone. And I don’t think that’s President Trump suggestion. His suggestion was giving them a choice. You have a choice. Where do you live madam? (Reporter: In DC).. Are you an American citizen…(Reporter: Yes)..You think you have a right to go to another country as you seem to visit, but the Palestinians should have that right. It’s called the freedom of choice and nothing more. That there’s no coercion, no forcible dislocation. If people want to leave Gaza, they should have the right to do so and not be held at the point of a gun of Hamas to keep them inside. If they want."

STORYLINE:
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he and US President Donald Trump have a common goal that does not involve coercion.
"President Trump and I have a common goal I know achieve the release of our hostages. We want to end Hamas rule in Gaza. They want to make sure that Gaza does not pose a threat to Israel any," said Netanyahu Wednesday while visiting Capitol Hill.
"And pursuing this common goal, we have a common strategy. Not only do we have a common strategy, we have common tactics. This doesn’t involve pressure, doesn’t involve coercion and involves coordination president Trump wants to do, but not at any price."
Trump met with Netanyahu for the second time in two days at the White House on Tuesday evening, but there was no sign of a breakthrough.
Netanyahu has vowed to continue the 21-month war until Hamas is destroyed, while the militant group has said it will only release the remaining hostages in return for a lasting ceasefire and an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza.
As Israel and Hamas move closer to a ceasefire agreement, Israel says it wants to maintain troops in a southern corridor of the Gaza Strip — a condition that could derail the talks.
An Israeli official said an outstanding issue in the negotiations was Israel’s desire to keep forces in the territory during a 60-day truce, including in the east-west axis that Israel calls the Morag corridor.
