STORYLINE:
Palestinian families across the Gaza Strip mourned the loss of their loved ones killed in Israeli airstrikes that pounded the territory Wednesday night into Thursday.
At least 13 people were killed in the city of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, including five children and two women.
Those killed in Deir al-Balah included at least 10 people waiting to receive nutritional supplements at a medical clinic early Thursday, according to Project Hope, an aid group that runs the clinic.
Omar Meshmesh, holding the dead body of three-year-old Aya Meshmesh, his niece, said the little girl headed out with her mother to the clinic to get the nutritional supplements when they were hit.
A mother and her three children were killed by an Israeli strike when they arrived at their relative’s house in Khan Younis on Wednesday night.
Later, another strike killed Yaman and Yumna Amour, 11-year-old twins, who lived in Muwasi.
Israel has intensified its attacks across Gaza Strip while talks for a ceasefire continue.
Over 57,500 Palestinians have been killed in the 21 months war, according to the Gaza’s health ministry.
