7. SOUNDBITE (English) Kenia Pittman, NY Botanical Garden exhibitions director:
"Something really important with every show that we do is the connection to plants. Van Gogh had a really close connection to plants and flowers and that really spoke to us and it says it in our title, right? ‘Van Gogh’s Flowers.’ So, really that in itself is the reason why we wanted to bring that theme to life this season. It seemed really fitting, like you said, when people think about Van Gogh, it’s ‘Starry Night,’ it’s those sunflowers. And specifically those sunflowers is something that we really wanted to just give that extra bam and boost."

10. SOUNDBITE (English) Kenia Pittman, NY Botanical Garden exhibitions director:
"So that’s why we – and I should say we, and specifically, our horticulture team did a phenomenal job of making sure that those sunflowers bloomed ahead of time because you typically see those blooming late July and August and they made sure that we have a tremendous sunflower field outside here on our conservatory lawn that visitors can enjoy."
