"Our own rector here in Kerrville had his house destroyed, everything he owned destroyed. And his son escaped just by minutes, he would have died. We have other parishioners involved who have family that were at Camp Mystic. We’ve had an eight-year-old woman who escaped through the roof in her house last minute. Uh, her son was able to pull her to safety. So we’ve seen, we’ve seeing that face of tragedy across our congregation and around the surrounding communities. So, we’d like to take opportunities like this to come together as a community to pray to God. And also Sunday mornings, we come together and worship both in prayer for our sorrow and thanksgiving for the lives that we’re saved."

STORYLINE:
A memorial service was held in Kerr County, Texas on Friday to honor the victims and those still missing from flooding that recently struck the region.
At least 120 people were killed and more than 160 people are believed to still be missing.
The county’s lowlands along the Guadalupe River are filled with youth camps and campgrounds, including Camp Mystic, the century-old all-girls Christian summer camp where at least 27 campers and counselors died. Officials said Tuesday that five campers and one counselor were missing.
