STORYLINE:
French President Emmanuel Macron met Monday with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the Élysée Palace, as part of ongoing efforts to support peace negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The meeting follows recent talks between Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, held in Abu Dhabi on July 10.
Macron reaffirmed France’s support for the swift signing of a peace treaty between the two countries, a key step toward opening a new chapter for all peoples in the region.
The leaders also discussed ways to deepen bilateral cooperation between France and Armenia, including political, economic, and cultural ties.
The Élysée said France remains committed to stability and long-term peace in the South Caucasus.
