“We’ve heard, we’ve been around Romania and people are saying it’s been very dry in the last years and we were up in the mountains and they were saying they haven’t seen rain last year almost, and so yeah we’re just now here also in very hot weather trying to cope, and finding some shade with the kids, and trying to stay out of the sun as much as possible.”

“Until now we didn’t have temperatures above 37-38 degrees Celsius, so we came for a walk in the park. But tomorrow they announced 40 degrees, and it will be hot in the park as well, so probably we’ll stay home with the air con on as long as there’s need for it.”

STORYLINE:
Higher than normal temperatures are forecast this week in Romania, which saw the mercury hit 41 degrees Celsius in Bucharest on Monday.
The capital is expected to reach more than 40 degrees on Tuesday, before slightly easing for the rest of the week.
Citizens in southern Romania received warnings on their phones, as red alerts for heat were issues by the authorities Monday.
In Bucharest, people took to parks to seek shade, while in the centre of the city mist dispensers helped to cool down.
It comes amid a severe draught in southern Romania.
