"I mean, you know, it sucks. It’s been hard, but getting to watch some of the edits before the show aired and getting to see the real true him that the world gets to remember him for, which you’ll see on this show, is just a beautiful thing. He really was a true gentleman. He was a light. He lit up every room that he walked into. He was fun. He was witty. Extremely talented. Him and I had a lot of parallels, even though we were a little bit different in age. I could be his dad. Maybe not that much, but he just… I don’t know, we just clicked immediately. And we had worked together on, you know, things in the past, whether it was award shows or radio shows. You would cross paths, you would talk to everybody, and you know, the 1D guys always talked about us in certain interviews which we were honored, but to get to really know him the way that I personally did was incredible, and I’m really honored that we get to dedicate this show to him and to his family and to fans and for everyone to remember him for who he really was."

Like he’d call afterwards and be like, you know, talk about like what just happened and how he wants to still be there to nurture them. You know what I mean? Like he was really dedicated to this. He absolutely loved every step of it."

He just had this really great intuition and also had fun with them and was very honest with them and would share tidbits and stories and anecdotes and everything because he had all the wit, all the wit. So yeah, we’d have that kind of moment with him. But it keeps being a down thing and it’s more so like, we’re so lucky to have had these moments with him, you know what I mean? His fans are really lucky to see this was his moment that he shined the most, you now? Or one of his many shining moments, but this was a really incredible one."
