Thailand and Cambodia agree to unconditional ceasefire | DW News

Leaders from Cambodia and Thailand have agreed to an unconditional ceasefire, ending days of violent border conflict.

The accord was reached in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, and was marked with a symbolic handshake. The ceasefire is due to come into effect at midnight. The truce comes after five days of fighting, in which at least 34 people were killed. Close to 200-thousand others were displaced. Both sides blame each other for starting the violence.
