STORYLINE:
Millions of tourists cling to battery-powered fans and water bottles as they shuffle their way through the Colosseum and Roman Forum in the scorching heat.
Massimo De Filippis is one of the hundreds of tour guides who spends hours every day on his feet describing the role of the vestal virgins, the power of the Roman emperors and the feats of the gladiators.
“It is tough, honestly it is tough, I am not going to lie,” De Filippis explains as he wipes the sweat off his face.
