4. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Riham Dwas:
"I’ve been here since 7 in the morning and I leave at 1 p.m. Sometimes I get food and sometimes not. My children eat if there is a charity kitchen running, but if there isn’t then they don’t eat. If they don’t eat, I would take them to the hospital for saline solutions just so that they could stand on their feet."
5. Various of women carrying their pots and waiting for food
6. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Riham Dwas:
"We’ve been living three months without bread. There’s no bread. We’re relying on charity kitchens, surviving on a pot of lentils and there are many times when we don’t even have that. We leave home without it and children don’t eat."

8. Various of man sitting in his wheelchair, carrying a pot and waiting for food
9. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Ahmed Abu Assi:
"I have three girls, and I can’t feed them. No one is taking care of my children. Where do I go? I come here so we can eat. There are no food vouchers and no flour. They bring vouchers and take money. I can’t eat flour, and I eat cooked food. Having flour and vouchers used to help me but now there’s nothing. Where do I go? I can’t go anywhere, I’m disabled."

11. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Nabil al-Kelani, displaced from Beit Lahia:
"The entire Palestinian population hoped that a truce would take effect on Thursday or Friday, but unfortunately both sides are prolonging this and we don’t know who is behind stalling the process. Yesterday, I had decided not to come to the charity kitchen thinking that a truce will come into effect and that we could go back to our homes. Unfortunately, all those people are at the charity kitchen hoping to just bring their meal for the day."

14. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Umm Abduallah:
"Here’s my pot. It doesn’t even have a single crumb. I have a 2-year-old girl. I got back home with an empty pot to see my daughter screaming for having no food or bread. People here push each other and fight. A pot spilled on me, and I was burnt so I left with nothing."
15. Various of charity workers filling pots with food
16. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Mohamed Mehesen, displaced from Shajiyeh:
"We wake up on news and sleep on different news. It killed us. The state of negotiations is one of the things that killed us and destroyed us psychologically as negotiations change every day and get stalled. Last night, we were surprised by Witkoff’s comments that shocked us all and raised prices in the market. Flour was priced at 30 shekels yesterday, but now it’s 70 shekels. We can’t even secure the bare minimum of food, which is flour that is not available. Witkoff’s remarks about the collapse of negotiations raised prices of flour to around $20."

STORYLINE:
Dozens of Palestinians gathered at a charity kitchen in Gaza City on Friday, desperate for food as a hunger crisis fuelled by Israel’s blockade deepens within the strip.
The charities and rights groups said even their own staff were struggling to get enough food.
