4. SOUNDBITE (English) Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Prime Minister:
“Israel is presented as though we are applying a campaign of starvation in Gaza. What a bold-faced lie. There is no policy of starvation in Gaza, and there is no starvation in Gaza. We enabled humanitarian aid throughout the duration of the war to enter Gaza, otherwise there would be no Gazans. And what is interdicted? The supply of humanitarian aid, is one force, Hamas. Again, the reversal of the truth. Hamas rob, steals this humanitarian aid and then accuses Israel of not supplying it. “

6. SOUNDBITE (English) Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Prime Minister:
“We have hundreds of trucks that are waiting on the Gazan side of the Kerem Shalom crossing, and it’s international organizations, some of them very well-intended. And it is the UN too, food that they purchased. And we said, go ahead, deliver it. And they say, we can’t, because combat is going on. And we say, yes, where we’re fighting, we’ll continue to fight. But there are safe corridors. You can bring the food to anywhere you want. “

8. SOUNDBITE (English) Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Prime Minister:
“We’ve just announced that formally. Here are safe corridors . And the UN has no excuses left. No excuses left, stop lying. Stop finding excuses, do what you have to do, and stop accusing Israel deliberately of this egregious falsehood. There is no starvation in Gaza, no policy of starvation Gaza."

STORYLINE:
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu denied widespread reports of starvation in Gaza on Sunday and blamed Hamas for stealing aid.

"What a bold-faced lie. There is no policy of starvations in Gaza, and there is no starvation in Gaza," he told an event led by conservative U.S. pastor Paula White in Jerusalem.

"We enable humanitarian aid throughout the duration of the war to enter Gaza, otherwise there would be no Gazans," he continued.

Israel’s military has begun a limited pause in fighting in three populated areas of Gaza for 10 hours a day as part of measures, including airdrops, as concerns grow over surging hunger.

Israel faces international criticism over its conduct in the 21-month war as more reports emerge of starvation deaths.

The military said Sunday the “tactical pause” in Gaza City, Deir al-Balah and Muwasi would increase humanitarian aid entering the territory.

Netanyahu says Israel has to allow in “minimal” aid.

As the military had warned, combat operations continued otherwise and at least 41 Palestinians were killed.
