"There was an airdrop, humiliating aid. They call it aid, but it is of course humiliating aid, not aid. We demand that aid distribution return to how it was before. UNRWA is the one distributing. What happened today was shameful, very shameful. People fought with each other. A litre of oil, that’s what I got. Because of the large number of pallets of aid that were dropped, 12 pallets of aid, people didn’t take anything. No matter how much aid they drop, people won’t take anything. People fought with each other. It’s death. What’s happening is forbidden. We’re dying here."

"The parachute fell here, on top of the people, and they attacked. What we got was canned chickpeas and a packet of salt. This is what I got.
Question: How do you see this way?) "This is the wrong way. UNRWA is supposed to receive and distribute, but what’s happening is that some take and others don’t. This is wrong."

"This aid, delivered in this way, is an insult to the Palestinian people. We want the crossings to be opened and aid to enter through humanitarian means through international organisations and through UNRWA, because that’s the way. The only safe way to deliver aid to our Palestinian people"

STORYLINE:
A plane flew low over Khan Younis on Monday, releasing parachutes laden with aid over the nearby town of Zawaida.
The parachutes landed near displaced families’ tents.
Among those watching the drop was Ibrahim Qoraan, a displaced man who managed to retrieve a single gallon of oil from the scattered supplies.
"They call it aid, but it is of course humiliating aid,” Qoraan said, as he held up the bottle.
“We demand that aid distribution return to how it was before. UNRWA is the one distributing, " he said.
The chaotic airdrops came as Israel announced a partial humanitarian pause in military operations, saying it would halt activity daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Gaza City, Deir al-Balah, and the coastal area of Al-Muwasi.
The move, meant to facilitate aid deliveries and designate secure humanitarian corridors.
Aid agencies say the new measures are not enough to counter worsening starvation in the territory.
“The parachute fell here, on top of the people, and they attacked it,” said Sahar Abu Samaha, a woman from Zawaida.
“What we got was canned chickpeas and a packet of salt. This is what I got. UNRWA should receive (the aid) and distribute it, but what’s happening is that some take and others don’t. This is wrong."
Children held dented cans of beans, while crushed chickpeas cans littered the ground.
Others collected handfuls of pasta into the folds of their shirts.
“This aid, delivered in this way, is an insult to the Palestinian people," said Hasan Al-Zalaan, a man displaced from northern Gaza.
