And as such, it forces us to ask, what does it mean to be human? The answer these days must come in action. “

“As health professionals and humanitarian actors, we call for global solidarity to defend life, health and dignity. The destruction of Gaza’s health system must end now. Stop the killing. Stop the starvation. Stop the genocide.”

STORYLINE:
Two prominent Israeli rights groups said on Monday that their country is committing genocide in Gaza.
It’s the first time that local human rights groups have made such accusations against Israel during nearly 22 months of war.
In reports published on Monday by B’Tselem and Physicians for Human Rights – Israel, the groups say Israel has targeted civilians in Gaza, caused mass displacement and "deliberate starvation."
“For the past 22 months we have witnessed unprecedented levels of civilian killings, of deliberate starvation, forced mass displacement, and the total destruction of most infrastructure necessary for human and social existence. The people of Gaza have been displaced, bombed, and starved, left completely stripped of their humanity and rights,” said Yuli Novak, B’Tselem’s Executive Director.
“We call for an urgent action from the international community, from the Israeli society, and from every person who’s listening to us.” Added Novak.
That’s due to the deep sensitivities and strong memories of the Nazi genocide of Europe’s Jews.
