STORYLINE:
As the BAAND Together Dance Festival begins at Lincoln Center, five of New York’s top dance companies unite for five nights of performances.
Ballet Hispánico, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, American Ballet Theatre, New York City Ballet, and Dance Theatre of Harlem come together to celebrate the art of dance.
Shanta Thake, Chief Artistic Officer at Lincoln Center, shared high hopes for the event.
“It’s an opportunity for dance fans, but also people that are new to dance, to come in and see some of these incredible companies performing one after another, and it really tells this larger story of the importance of dance, the beauty of dance and the power of dance.”
Thake adds that daily dance workshops will also be offered.
“Each of the companies has incredible education programs and they’re showcasing those. So everybody can come and actually learn how to dance themselves in all of these forms and then come together.”
Running through August 2, this rare event features beloved programming curated by the artistic directors of each company.
