STORYLINE:
A number of large bright lights were seen from southern Israel falling slowly towards Gaza in the early hours of Thursday.
The Israeli offensive continues in the Palestinian territory 22 months after the war erupted.
Ceasefire talks have stopped and Israeli media have reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is on the verge of ordering the full reoccupation of Gaza for the first time since Israel withdrew soldiers and settlers two decades ago.
