“Of course, the summit between the leadership of Russia and the U.S., which is planned as we hope for next week. This, of course, can become an important historic event, an event when Russia’s position will be clearly conveyed to President (Donald) Trump. And we hope that this dialogue will continue even more actively, including in the economic area. And we see that joint investments, including with investors from the United States, projects in the Arctic, rare earth metals, infrastructure projects, this can be mutually beneficial for both Russia and the United States. And we see that we can also develop joint investments in technology companies and many others.”

“As the dialogue bears fruit, these will also be economic fruits. We talked about the fact that American companies have lost more than $300 billion dollars by leaving the Russian market. We see significant interest from American companies to return back and, accordingly, we believe that restoring the dialogue between Russia and the United States will also allow for good economic fruits, both for Russian companies cooperating with Americans and for American investors who want to actively enter the Russian market.”

STORYLINE:
A proposed meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump will help enhance dialogue between the two countries and could be a "historic event," Russia’s presidential envoy for international investment said Thursday.
Speaking to journalists in Moscow, Kirill Dmitriev stressed the opportunities for renewed economic cooperation with the U.S., and accused Russia’s adversaries of seeking to "misinform the U.S. leadership about various facts."
"This dialogue allows Russia to clearly convey its position," he said.
Putin said earlier he hopes to meet next week with Trump, possibly in the United Arab Emirates.
The news came on the eve of a White House deadline for Moscow to show progress toward ending three years of fighting in Ukraine.
A meeting between Putin and Trump would be the first U.S.-Russia summit since former President Joe Biden met with the Kremlin leader in 2021.
There’s no guarantee a Trump-Putin meeting would lead to the end of the conflict, since Moscow and Kyiv remain far apart on their conditions for peace.
