After a vacuum session at home, we don’t like to think of all the things our machine captured. Well, one man does. Rahat Rai says he sees through all the debris. What’s leftover is dust and fluff that he says has potential to make something useful: slippers. There’s a long process of sorting, sifting, sanitizing, and reinforcing the material to make a durable pair of shoes, but Rai says he’s happy with what he’s been able to create.
