STORYLINE:
Dozens of dogs, dressed in traditional Bolivian costumes, paraded to the beat of drums through the streets of downtown La Paz to pay tribute to the nation.
This unique event was held as part of the celebrations for the bicentennial of Bolivia’s creation.
The parade featured dogs and their owners, who dressed their furry friends in colorful dresses, carnival attire, popular culture idols, and miniature versions of traditional Bolivian outfits.
Some popular costumes often represented different regions and cultures of the country, such as the vibrant Pollera (a multi-layered skirt) worn by Indigenous women, or the elaborate outfits from the famous Carnival of Oruro.
The joyful procession led by a large Bolivian flag moved through the city center, attracting smiles and cheers from onlookers.
