STORYLINE:
French President Emmanuel Macron participated in a ceremony commemorating the 81st anniversary of the liberation of the small town of Bormes Les Mimosas in the Provence region.

Occupied by Germany, the town was liberated on August 17, 1944, after the Provence landing of allied forces also known as Operation Dragoon.

Macron will leave tomorrow for Washington DC with other European leaders, and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskyy, to meet President Trump and discuss ending the war in Ukraine and providing guarantees to Kyiv.
