STORYLINE:
Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi visited Moscow on Wednesday and met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
The top diplomats held bilateral talks and signed mutual visa waiver agreement between two countries.
Speaking at a news conference, Sergey Lavrov commented on the initiatives of European leaders to create collective security guarantees for Ukraine that they made after the summit in Washington.
"We cannot agree with the fact that it is now proposed to resolve collective security issues without Russia," said Lavrov.
He called the discussions on security issues without the Russian Federation "utopia" and "the road to nowhere."
Lavrov called steps of the European Union to resolve the Ukrainian crisis "rather clumsy and unethical attempts to change the position of the Trump administration."
"What diplomatic steps have you noticed in the European Union? Before evaluating them, they need to be seen," he added.
Lavrov also confirmed that President Vladimir Putin is ready to talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in any format.
