This is the end of our rental season, so there is some lost revenue here and it is an inconvenience for the visitors that come here and for the locals as well that some have to commute up to the north end over the bridge to go to work. So yea , it’s a little bit of a hindrance, but, you gotta look where we live. This is what it is, so it’s a trade-off."

"The main concern for the evacuation this time, I believe, is just the road washing out and the people being stuck here for a few days. They’re going to get the road open by Saturday to let the renters for the following week back in. That’s pretty much…that’s their main concern, getting to back on the island as soon as possible. So the road’s not going to be closed for more than a couple of days, in my opinion."

Seeing a lot of storms go through over the past 40 years and we’ve had some bad ones and we’ve had some ones that weren’t so bad, but roads are usually the biggest thing, hindrance up this way."
