Twenty-one international films will compete for the Golden Lion at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival. The red carpet will once again feature a star-studded lineup, including regulars George Clooney and Cate Blanchett, as well as Julia Roberts’s debut appearance. The films range from thrillers and comedic mysteries to documentaries, as well as arthouse and experimental films that will screen outside the competition. German director Werner Herzog will receive the Golden Lion in recognition of his lifetime achievements.
