A US appeals court has ruled that most tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump are illegal.
A majority of the judges said Trump went beyond his authority as president. The ruling affects Trump’s so-called "reciprocal" tariffs, imposed on many countries worldwide — but it will not take effect until mid-October. That gives the government a chance to appeal the ruling to the Supreme Court — which Trump has vowed to do.
