STORYLINE:
Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said on Monday that foreign military presence in Ukraine would be important for security guarantees and would also serve as “political pressure" towards Russia.”
His comments came during a meeting with German Vice Chancellor, Lars Klingbeil, during his visit to Kyiv.
Zelenskyy said the countries in the so called coalition of the willing should have a presence on the ground to support Ukraine.
During the meeting, Zelenskyy and Klingbeil also discussed security guarantees for Ukraine and the provision of air defense systems, officials said.
“We need to have security in the sky and at sea, not only on land,” Zelenskyy stressed.
