STORYLINE:
Cracker Barrel is changing its logo, and some customers in Vicksburg, Mississippi aren’t looking forward to the change.
"To whoever’s doing this: please leave it alone," said Doris Leist. "We love the sign. We love the little man on the sign. We love the Cracker Barrel."
The new logo won’t include the image of a barrel or a man leaning on it. The words “Old Country Store" are also gone. Instead, the new emblem features a simpler design with just “Cracker Barrel” written on a gold background, which also has a semi-updated shape.
"I don’t like the changes. I mean it’s always been Cracker Barrel like it is, so I’d like for it to stay like it is," said Sid Leist.
The rebrand has not yet made it’s way to the Vicksburg store, but customers are well aware of the changes coming.
"They are supposed to be taking out the old, I call it antique-type decorations on the walls, which I’m very conservative and old so I like it those and rather that they didn’t," said Jerry Love, who had lunch at the restaurant Tuesday afternoon.
Love said as long as the food and service continue to be good, he will continue coming to Cracker Barrel — even if it no longer has the comforting look he’s come to love.
