Will the protests in Indonesia continue? | DW News

In Indonesia, the social media platform TikTok has suspended its live broadcast feature amid violent anti-government protests. The government claims that the platform has been used to spread disinformation, which has led to protests against it.
The demonstrations were initially sparked by public outrage over lawmakers’ housing allowances amid economic inequality. However, they escalated after a civilian was killed when he was hit by an armoured vehicle during a protest on Thursday night. Several people later died when they jumped from a building that protesters had set on fire.
